This is getting annoying. No other board that I have owned that had AC’97 support needed this. Tried other known working speakers too and still no sound. I am glad you have the sound issue resolved. If that’s the case, you’ll most likely need to download the drivers from the company website Realtek’s not Asus’. This site hosts no abandonware.

Had this board since late and never had working onboard sound with this board until today, when I saw this thread. I searched the official site of Asus but it does not give any Win7 drivers.

I even tried the front panel connectors internal header connected up toostill nothing. A high Value score will let people know that this hardware is worth its cost.

Note that passwords are case-sensitive. I recently reinstalled windows and backed everything up except for the program files as that’s where the sond and other problems had sprouted from.
